Standing Out is GSA OASIS+
When I review the list of OASIS+ apparent awardees, I notice there are a lot of similarities in company names. I find it interesting that:
- 3 begin with “Advanced Systems”
- 4 begin with “Agile”
- 6 begin with “Integrity”
- 7 begin with “Applied”
- 9 begin with “Integrated’
- 10 begin with “Strategic”
- 12 begin with “Global”
I confess that I miss-matched one of the companies I’ve been talking to about Mild Red’s 90-day service. Think of the confusion customers and potential teammates may have when you begin to engage?
Branding is Important
If you are one of those companies easily confused with other small businesses in your competitive landscape, branding plays an even more important role in differentiating your business from the rest. Some strategic thinking and investment with professional marketeers should be seriously considered to help you with your:
- Corporate colors
- Logo
- Tag line
- Website
- Collateral / Swag / Signage, etc.
This is not a ‘me too’ situation. This is a ‘why choose us’ necessity.
One logo example that comes to mind is ArcSource Group, Inc. Their name stands out from the rest. Their choice of colors and logo reflect their bright future. As I continue to work with these dedicated professionals, I see how their branding is an extension of who they are and what they want to accomplish in the federal sector.
Messaging will always be a work in progress as companies branch out into new capabilities, but the look and feel of a company is a memorable impression that customers and potential business partners can form regarding who you are and how you are a better choice than the rest.
Mild Red LLC has a 90-day service offering for vendors new to the OASIS ecosystem. We also have a bundled opportunity with ArtForm Business Solutions to help you highlight your strengths and how to stand out from the crowd. Reach out to Katie Helwig or Janet Waring for more information.
