AFCEA International is accepting applications to serve on the Small Business Committee (SBC).

The SBC was formed to give small business a voice in the #GovCon arena. Members are chosen based on diversity of thought, experience, culture, subject matter expertise as well as the desire to serve.

If you’re looking to share your business acumen, welcome new members into the AFCEA community and invest (time, money and expertise) in the conversations between industry, government and academia, complete an application for consideration.

Applications are being accepted until August 10, 2022. Review the qualifications and application process here: AFCEA International (membersuite.com)

Mild Red President & Co-founder, Katie Helwig has been an influencer of this group since 2015, first as the #AFCEA liaison, then as a committee member. Currently she co-chairs the BD Roundtable with Matt Stratford and Will Swann.

Beginning in October 2022, she’ll serve as the SBC co-chair with Joshua Duvall, Esq., CISSP who will serve as chair.

“For more than 7 years, the SBC has influenced me personally and professionally. The skills I have sharpened in navigating the federal contracting process, gaining market intelligence, and growing a professional network is due to actively participating in this committee. I’ve learned so much from the amazing entrepreneurs involved with AFCEA.

At the last AFCEA SBC after-event gathering something Rakhi Kapoor Sharma (President & Co-Founder of Rigil Corporation) continues to inspire. Her words of advice in starting Mild Red: ‘Do what you do well … the rest, you’ll figure out.’ It’s not the quote that lingers in my motivation pool, but the inner confidence that the words of affirmation generate.

AFCEA’s Small Business Committee is a welcoming forum to discover “the rest” from professionals who are open to share, mentor and encourage. When you serve the GovCon Small Business community through AFCEA, or through other professional associations, the more you give, the more you’ll receive. What you’ll receive will be more than you give.” – Katie Helwig, Mild Red LLC President & Co-founder.
